If you have two weeks holiday, our “best of” package covers Vietnam from north to south. Start with a morning tour of Ho Chi Minh City (the afternoon free) before venturing next day to the Mekong Delta, a maze of waterways and home to some 18 million people. Known as the “ricebowl of Vietnam”, it produces enough rice for the whole country with surplus to export. Fly to Hanoi and catch the night train northwest to Sapa on the deluxe Victoria Express. Enjoy 2 days in Sapa, nestled in a valley high above sea level, exploring villages and seeing ethnic minority groups who live here. Back to Hanoi and enjoy a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter, once a centre for crafts, which served the Royal Palace with quality products. Take a day trip to Halong Bay and see this unique world heritage area, enjoy a boat cruise on these calm waters. Fly to Hoi An, once an old trading port, that has retained its ancient charm with many old buildings still intact. A great place to rest for a couple of days. Spend one more night in Ho Chi Minh City for last minute shopping.

The Victoria Express Train is part of the Victoria Hotel chain, and you will stay at the Victoria Sapa Resort, again the best in town. Victoria Hoi An Beach & Spa Resort has its own private beach and you can catch the hotel shuttle into town, a beautiful tropical retreat. Majestic Hotel in Ho Chi Minh city is another old colonial hotel, located right on the river and close to good shopping.
