DAY 1 ARRIVAL ATHENS

Arrive in Athens. Transfer from the airport is provided. Meet our tour manager and fellow travellers tonight at the hotel.

DAY 2 ATHENS (B/L/D)

City tour visiting the Acropolis, symbol of ancient Greek civilisation and Temple of the Unknown Soldier, where we will observe the changing of the guard. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon see the new National Archeological Museum and enjoy a panoramic view of Athens from Lykavittos Hill. Later we will transfer to dinner which will include music and Greek folk dancing.

DAY 3 ATHENS (B/L)

Morning walk with our guide to explore the Plaka area (old historic neighbourhood) before visiting the Monastiraki flea market. Sunday is the best and busiest day of the week to visit with many vendors selling their wares both old and new. After a short guided tour, spend time on your own shopping to your hearts content. Lunch at a local restaurant before walking back to our hotel. Remainder of the day is free.

DAY 4 ATHENS-CRETE (B/L/D)

Morning flight to Crete. Visit the ruins of the once great Knossos Minoan Palace, symbol of Crete Minoan civilisation. Continue to the western picturesque town of Chania (lunch along the way). Later walk with our guide to a local restaurant for dinner.

DAY 5 CRETE (B/L)

Morning walk with our guide around this lovely old Venetian town exploring backstreets and places of interest including the Chania War Museum. Lunch will be in the old harbour area. Free afternoon to relax.

DAY 6 CRETE (B/L)

Transfer to a small village for our cooking lesson in Cretan cuisine. Prepare local dishes and gain infomation about the ingredients used. The cooking lesson turns into a local fiesta at the end, taste the dishes you have prepared with home made wine, bread and music entertainment. After our delicious lunch, we will see Arkadi Monastery on the way back to Chania.

DAY 7 CRETE-SANTORINI (B)

Depart for the port of Heraklion for Flying Cat4 boat to Santorini. Transfer to our hotel in Fira. Free time to relax and enjoy the island's dramatic volcanic scenery. Later meet our guide and transfer to dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 8 SANTORINI (B)

This morning visit the gorgeous village of Oia at the opposite end of the island and on the way back stop at Kamari beach for a swim if you wish. Return to Fira for a free afternoon.

DAY 9 SANTORINI (B)

The day is yours to explore until mid afternoon, when we will transfer to an old replica boat for a magical time sailing in the caldera area (and for a swim). Enjoy sunset with music and light snacks. On arrival back at the port, we will transfer back to Fira by donkey.

DAY 10 SANTORINI-MYKONOS (B/D)

Transfer in the morning by Flying Cat4 to the fabulous resort island of Mykonos. Check into our hotel. Later meet our local guide and walk to a local restaurant for dinner.

DAY 11 MYKONOS (B/L)

Boat trip to the island of Delos, an important archaeological (UNESCO) site in Greece, and once a prosperous trading port. On return to port we will travel to Shirley Valentine Beach for lunch and later tour around the rest of the island.

DAY 12 MYKONOS (B/D)

Last day to enjoy Mykonos at your leisure. Farewell dinner later at a seaside restaurant.

DAY 13 MYKONOS – ATHENS (B)

Transfer to the airport for flight to Athens for onwards destination. Tour services finish here.

ABOUT THIS TOUR

Greece has always been a traveller’s favourite with great food, people and fantastic sights. The tour starts off in Athens where you will see ancient sites and shop in the Monastiraki flea market, a huge and very busy market on Sunday. We then fly to Crete where we will see spectacular scenery, visiting old ruins and staying in the historial town of Chania. Learn about Greek food with a cooking lesson. Next is beautiful Santorini, known as the "black pearl of the Aegean". While here you will enjoy an afternoon cruise on the caldera and capture the magnificent sunset. The tour finishes in Mykonos, the glamorous party island. Here we also visit Delos, a fascinating mythical island.

This is a land package and does not include international flights. We can arrange the best available airfare for to suit your requirements. Please note the tour requires a minimum number to proceed (see below). The earlier you book, the earlier we can confirm the tour is going ahead, and international flights can then be arranged.

SMALL GROUP SIZE

We like to keep our groups small. Our maximum size is 15 and we require a minimum of 10 for the tour to proceed.

INCLUSIONS IN THE TOUR

We provide many meals throughout the tour (except drinks) indicated in the itinerary by (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch and (D) Dinner. We eat at interesting restaurants along the way, serving great food.

Arrival transfer from Athens International Airport to our hotel in Athens is included.

Our hotels are 4 star category and centrally located.

TRAVELLING

Our own private transport except for the Santorini afternoon cruise and tour to Delos, which will be “join in” tours. A basic level of fitness is required.

GUIDES

A tour escort from Australia will be there to assist the group to make it enjoyable for you. Local guides are used at each destination to share with us their knowledge on the places we visit.
